WHAT IS A VIRTUAL CHALLENGER BASEBALL SUPER CAMP?
This is an opportunity to bring together athletes and families from your Challenger Baseball league virtually to take part in a 60 minute Challenger Baseball Super Camp – which is a 45 minute Virtual Challenger Baseball session followed-by 15 minutes of supervised “team conversation” to help athletes and their families catch-up during this extraordinary time!
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN A VIRTUAL CHALLENGER BASEBALL SUPER CAMP?
Our goal is to meaningfully engage Challenger Baseball athletes and their families within Summer Leagues across Canada who:
- Have not taken part in any Virtual Challenger Baseball programming during COVID, or
- Have taken part in Virtual Challenger Baseball programming run by their league but would like Jays Care to run a special Virtual Super Camp for their league
HOW MANY ATHLETES DO WE NEED TO HOST A VIRTUAL CHALLENGER BASEBALL SUPER CAMP?
A minimum of 10 athletes are required to run a Virtual Challenger Baseball Super Camp.
CAN I PICK THE DATE AND TIME OF THE VIRTUAL CHALLENGER BASEBALL SUPER CAMP FOR MY LEAGUE?
Within the registration below, you can request DATE(S) and TIME(S) that are best for your league. The dates range from: August 11th – 14th, 18th – 21st and 27 – 28th and the time slots to choose from are: 10 – 11am EST, 1 – 2pm EST, 3 – 4pm EST and 6 – 7pm EST.
WHAT DOES EACH VIRTUAL CHALLENGER BASEBALL SUPER CAMP INCLUDE?
- 45 minute Challenger Baseball Super Clinic facilitated by Jays Care master facilitators: This includes a structured and accessible version of the JCF “Wave” with a welcome/opening, energizers, skills/drills, and closing/tradition and after the 45 minute session ends, families and athletes have the option to leave the virtual space before “team catch-up starts”
- 15 minute “team catch-up” supervised by Jays Care Foundation staff (optional): This includes a facilitated accessible “catch-up conversation” to enable athletes who haven’t seen each other in person in many months to reconnect. Facilitators will have a list of conversation starters ready if there is any conversation space to fill.
- Certificate: Each athlete will receive a “Virtual Challenger Baseball Super Camp 2020” certificate PDF via e-mail following the event
PLEASE REGISTER YOUR LEAGUE PRIOR TO MONDAY, JULY 20th 2020.
AFTER I REGISTER MY LEAGUE, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
A team member at JCF will contact you to confirm your Virtual Challenger Baseball Super Camp date and time. A registration link (with waiver) will be sent to each League 1-week prior to their Super Camp Date (registration will close 2-days prior to the Super Camp) at which point the Pre-Super Camp Package is sent to all registrants.
